Another little difference between America and Australia is what they put in their burgers.
The american 'deluxe' version would be called 'The Works', and typically contains lettuce, pickle, tomato, onion, meat, extra meat, cheese, bacon, perhaps guacamole.
The australian is called 'The Lot', and you can find the meat cheese and lettuce of course, but also egg, bacon, and beet root! And it's jolly good, mate :)
Personally I can't stand the sweet pickles they use here, especially when comparing them to our french 'cornichons', but beet root is a very nice (albeit stain-prone) addition.
